Preview – Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway

October 17, 2019

Following a one-week break, we are back at it at Kansas Speedway to kick off the first of three races in the Round 8 of the 2019 Playoffs. Christopher Bell and the Rheem team are seeded first. We are looking to earn our eighth win of the 2019 season and become the first team locked into the “Championship 4” at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

RACE INFO: The Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway begins at 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The race will be broadcast live on NBC, Sirius XM 90, and MRN Radio.

Kicking Off the Round of 8: Following a one-week break, The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) heads to Kansas Speedway this weekend to kick off the first of three races in the Round 8 of the 2019 Playoffs. Seeded first, Christopher Bell and his Rheem team will look to earn their eighth win of the 2019 season on Saturday afternoon, and become the first team locked into the “Championship 4” at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

No Place Like Kansas: Bell earned his first career NXS victory at Kansas Speedway in 2017. The win came in just his fifth start in the series and makes Kansas a special track for Bell.

Kansas 2018: Bell qualified second but was collected in an accident on lap one of the race, resulting in a 37th-place finish.

Dover Recap: Bell headed into Dover looking to earn his third win in a row at the 1.0-mile concrete oval. Bell qualified sixth but a mechanical issue early on in the race sent him to the garage for repairs. After the trip to the garage Bell continued on to salvage a 25th-place finish.

Points Update: Bell and his Rheem team continue to sit in first in the points standings, 12 points ahead of second heading into the Round of 8 this weekend.

Joe Gibbs Racing at Kansas: JGR has 45 NXS starts at Kansas with eight wins, 14 top-five and 26 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has four pole awards with an average start of 11.2 and an average finish of 13.5.

Christopher Bell: “Kansas is a special place for me; it’s the site of my first-career NXS win. Kansas didn’t go so well for us last year, but I’m hoping to change that this weekend and get this next round of the Playoffs off to a good start. It would be nice to start off this round with a win and lock ourselves in to the final four for Homestead.”
