Harvick Aims to Pick Up Another NNS Win at Chicagoland Speedway

September 10, 2013

NASCAR Nationwide Series – Dollar General 300
September 14, 2013 – Chicagoland Speedway
Kevin Harvick, No. 33

Kevin Harvick will pilot Chassis No. 130 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Nationwide Series stable in the Dollar General 300 on Saturday afternoon. This new RCR-prepared Chevrolet will be on track for the first time this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. Since 2001, Harvick has made nine Nationwide Series starts at the 1.5-mile facility collecting one pole award (2010), two wins (2005 and 2006), four top-five and five top-10 finishes. The two-time Nationwide Series champion holds an average starting position of 7.1 coupled with a 13th-place average finishing position. He has completed 89.6 percent (1,616 of 1,803) of the laps contested and is credited with 95 laps led.

Chicagoland (Speedway) has been good to me throughout the years. I enjoy racing at Chicagoland because the track is unique. You can go through the corners pretty much wide open. You can let off sooner than you do at most places we go to, and you can drive it all the way through the corners under power. There is a lot more throttle there than most places. You get back in the gas a lot quicker there too, compared to other places. We’ve gotten a few wins in the past, and I hope to pick up another this weekend for the Rheem/Menards team. – Kevin Harvick

Flag-to-flag coverage of the DollarGeneral 300 will be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, Sept. 14, and also broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Satellite Radio channel 90.
