Bell is Gunning for a Strong Performance in Vegas

RACE INFO: The South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway begins at 7:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 27, 2020. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, Sirius XM 90 and PRN Radio.


Bell is Gunning for a Strong Performance in Vegas

“Vegas is a really enjoyable track to race at, especially when it’s hot outside and the track gets slick. We weren’t very good in the spring, so we are determined to show up better than we did earlier this year.”

Vegas Bound: Christopher Bell will make his second NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) this weekend. Earlier this season Bell started 22nd at Vegas after rain washed out qualifying and was maneuvering his way around the 1.5-mile speedway with a loose-handling Toyota when he spun and made contact with the wall. He was able to continue and finish 33rd.

Bell at Vegas: Bell has had four successful NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) starts at the 1.5-mile oval with three top-five finishes and one pole starting position. Bell also has three NASCAR Truck Series starts at Vegas, earning one top-five and two top-10 finishes.

Celebrating Cancer Heroes: September is childhood and ovarian cancer awareness month. In an effort, to create awareness, the Martin Truex Jr Foundation partnered with the NASCAR Foundation to launch the Nominate a Cancer Hero program for this weekend at LVMS. The No. 95 will represent Karen Morgan, who passed away from Glioblastoma on May 28, 2020 and was nominated by her Husband, Wayne Morgan.

Bristol Recap: Bell started 18th under the lights Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. During stage two Bell suffered some damage when a car unexpectedly checked up in front of him. Bell rebounded in the final stage and was running 11th when the right-front tire went flat under green. He was able to get his No. 95 Toyota to pit road for tires and salvaged a 28th-place finish.
