Bell Finishes 28th at Kansas

RACE: Buschy McBusch Race 400
TRACK: Kansas Speedway
START: 8th
FINISH: 28th
LAPS: 267 lap

Stage 1 Recap (Laps 1-80)

  • Christopher Bell started 8th and worked his way up to 3rd by the Lap 25 competition caution.
  • A tight race car led to Bell falling back a few positions after the restart resulting in a 10th place Stage 1 finish.

    Stage 2 Recap (Laps 88-160)

    • Bell started Stage 2 in 12th. 
    • The Rheem Machine started off tight once again but after a few adjustments, Bell was able to make up some positions on the track. 
    • Bell finished the stage 9th. 

    Stage 3 Recap (Laps 167-267)

    • At the start of Stage 3, Bell took off 11th after pitting at the stage break.
    • The handling was still a problem during the final 40 laps of the race but the car was still in the Top 10. 
    • While in 9th with 10 laps to go, the car got sideways and Bell hit another car. 
    • The 20 team were able to make repairs and Bell brought the car across the start/finish line 28th.

    • Kyle Busch brought home the checkered flag in the Buschy McBusch Race 400. 

    Up Next: The NASCAR Cup Series throws it back to Darlington Raceway for the Goodyear 400 in the annual throwback weekend at the track.  The race will be broadcast live Sunday, May 9 at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
