Post-Race Highlights

The NASCAR XFINITY Series rolled into Daytona International Speedway (DIS) for the PowerShares QQQ 300 to start the 2018 season on Saturday afternoon. Sporting a new white Rheem paint scheme, Christopher Bell looked to kick-off his rookie season in the Xfinity series on a high note during the scheduled 120-lap event. Unfortunately, the Norman, OK native was involved in a lap 11 crash, relegating him and his Rheem Manufacturing team to a 39th-place finish.

After qualifying his No. 20 Rheem Camry 13th for the 100th NASCAR Xfinity Series race, Bell settled into the draft following the drop of the green flag, running two and sometimes three wide to start the race. The 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion was scored in 19th by lap five and worked his way up to 14th by lap 11 when unfortunately, Bell was involved in an accident in the tri-oval which brought out the first caution of the afternoon. Unfortunately for Bell and his Rheem team, the damage suffered to their Toyota Camry ended their day and relegated them to a 39th-place finish.

Bell will return to the track next weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, making his first start of the season in the Ruud Camry. Coverage of the race begins at 1:30 PM ET live on Fox Sports 1, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.
