Austin Dillon Joins GMS Racing at Pocono Raceway

July 28, 2015

NASCAR Truck Series – Pocono Mountains 150
August 1, 2015 – Pocono Raceway
Austin Dillon, No. 33

Austin Dillon joins GMS Racing as the driver of the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) for this weekend’s Pocono Mountains 150 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. Dillon’s résumé includes three starts at the Tricky Triangle, resulting in two top-five finishes, one top-10 finish and a win. The victory came in 2014 after Dillon started from the second position and led a total of 23 laps.

Pocono marks Dillon’s first of three NCWTS starts for GMS Racing in 2015. The 2011 Series champion will return to the Rheem Chevrolet at Michigan International Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway, where he has three top-five finishes in six combined starts.

Dillon will pilot chassis No. 029 at Pocono Raceway. This will be the first time this particular Chevrolet is raced.

I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of a truck this weekend at Pocono. This track is a lot of fun to drive. There’s a lot of shifting that goes on there. I think turn three still has a little bit of a passing zone in it on late exit, but it’s still one of the faster corners of the track. I’m confident Shane (Huffman, crew chief) and the boys will have a fast truck when we unload. I’m looking forward to seeing what this Rheem Chevrolet can do. – Austin Dillon
