Rheem Tankless Water Heaters Now Available as Autodesk® Revit® BIM Objects.
January 18, 2013
ATLANTA, January 18, 2013—Rheem’s line of tankless gas water heaters are now available as Autodesk® Revit® Building Information Modeling (BIM) objects. These BIM objects accurately reflect the physical features of Rheem’s tankless models, so architectural and engineering professionals that access the Autodesk Revit platform can easily incorporate the units into designs. Rheem’s tankless models are the only tankless water heating objects available for download in the Revit platform.
“Tankless water heaters are ideal for commercial settings because they provide continuous hot water in a space-saving design. Plus, up to 20 units can be linked together, which will satisfy even the most robust commercial water heating demands,” said Tommy Olsen, market manager, Rheem tankless and specialty products. “By having Revit Model files for Rheem tankless water heaters, building engineers and architects can more quickly figure out how a tankless water heating system can fit into their plans.”
Autodesk Revit is BIM software that allows architects and engineers to design a building and its components in 3D. Users can also annotate the model with 2D drafting elements and access building information from the building models database. Revit is equipped with tools to plan and track various stages in the building’s lifecycle, from concept to construction.
Rheem Tankless Revit model files are available for download free of charge on www.Rheem.com/Tankless by clicking on the desired product and then selecting the Specs/Docs tab. They are also accessible via the Autodesk Seek® web service, which enables designers to download BIM models, drawings and specifications. Each Rheem tankless Revit model includes physical dimension information and the connection points for venting, water and gas lines, as well as BTU input and clearances.
While several Rheem commercial tank water heating products and Raypak commercial boilers are featured in Autodesk Revit’s software, this is the first time the company’s tankless units are included. For more information, please see www.Rheem.com/Tankless.
