Rheem Kicks off Largest US Domestic Solar Water Heating Program this Weekend!.

September 4, 2009

Join Rheem and Valley Electric Association (VEA) this weekend, September 45, as they kick of the largest Domestic Solar Water Heating (DSWH) Program at the 2009 VEA Energy Symposium. Held at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino in Pahrump, Nev., the event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Rheem and VEA are launching the largest DSWH program ever undertaken in the United States. This program offers each member of VEA, an electrical co-op servicing more than 22,000 meters within Nevada and California, an opportunity to install a Rheem solar water heating system in their residence.

It’s estimated that members switching from electric or propane water heating systems will save between $250 and $550 annually on water heating. According to VEA, this program will also help to eliminate 15.4 million pounds of carbon dioxide annually and save $34 million or more, collectively, on energy costs over the next 20 years.
