Paul Menard Finishes Fourth in His Final NASCAR XFINITY Series Race of 2015

September 20, 2015

NASCAR XFINITY Series – Furious 7 300
September 19, 2015 –  Chicagoland Speedway – Joliet, Ill.

Paul Menard started his final NASCAR XFINITY Series event of the 2015 season from the seventh spot and finished fourth after 200 laps of racing at Chicagoland Speedway. In the opening laps, Menard maintained a position in the top six and reported the Richmond/Menards Chevy was tight into the center and loose from center to exit of the corners. When the caution flag was displayed on lap 21, crew chief Danny Stockman opted to call Menard in for four tires and fuel with a plan to see how handling changed when the sun went down. The No. 33 Chevy team made improvements to the car on laps 72, 89, 133 and 144 for a combination of four tires, fuel, wedge and track bar adjustments with the final stop for fuel only. Menard never fell below 10th during the 300-mile event and crossed the finish line fourth. The Richard Childress Racing driver finished his 2015 XFINITY Series season Saturday with one win at Road America along with three top-five and six top-10 finishes.

We were just a little bit off all weekend. Danny (Stockman, crew chief) and the guys did a great job tonight making adjustments. We definitely made improvements on the Richmond/Menards Chevy throughout the night. It’s been fun racing with these guys this year. They’re a really close team and I’m happy to be a part of it. – Paul Menard
