Hornaday Looking Forward to Competing At Eldora Speedway

July 21, 2014

NASCAR Truck Series – 1-800-CarCash Mudsummer Classic
July 23, 2014 – Eldora Speedway
Ron Hornaday, No. 30

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) heads to Eldora Speedway for its second year of dirt racing. Four-time champion Ron Hornaday Jr. has one start at the 0.5-mile-oval, coming home 28th in last year’s inaugural showdown. Hornaday was off to a strong start in the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway, running in and around the top five for the first quarter of the 200-lap race and demonstrating he was a candidate for the win. However, an incident on lap 63 with another competitor caused serious damage to the No. 30 Rheem Comfort Products Chevrolet, relegating him to a 21st-place finish at Iowa.

I’m looking forward to returning to Eldora Speedway and racing on Wednesday night in the dirt. Our teams went out and tested a few weeks ago and I think we learned a lot that we can take with us this week. Eldora is so different from anything we do, but I really enjoy it and I think the fans do as well. Hopefully we can stay out of trouble and be there at the end; you just never know in a race like this. – Ron Hornaday Jr.
