Menard and His No. 27 Rheem Team Prepare For the Kansas 400

October 1, 2013

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – Kansas 400
October 6, 2013 – Kansas Speedway
Paul Menard, No. 27

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 427 at Kansas Speedway. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS was previously run this season at Michigan International Speedway and Pocono Raceway. Menard has nine NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at Kansas Speedway. His best start of second came in 2010 and best finish of third came in 2012. The Wisconsin native has completed 2,346 of 2,351 laps attempted (99.8 percent) at the Kansas track, leading 17 of them.

Kansas is a fun track to race on, especially with the new pavement. It’s really fast, one of the fastest tracks we race on all year. With the new pavement, the racing groove is narrow and mostly on the bottom of the track. As we continue to run races there, the groove will build up and get wider. It should be a good race and I’m looking forward to going back. We had a really good car there earlier this year and got a top-10 finish. We ran really well there last year also, so we’re looking for good things for our Menards/SPLASH Chevrolet SS this weekend. – Paul Menard

ESPN’s live coverage from Kansas Speedway begins Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The race will also be broadcast on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
