Menard Aims For Top Ten Finish at Sylvania 300

September 17, 2013

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – Sylvania 300
September 22, 2013 – New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Paul Menard, No. 27

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 434 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS is a new addition to the Richard Childress Racing stable and will turn its first laps this weekend at the one-mile facility. Menard has 13 starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. His best start of seventh and best finish of 12th both came in 2012. The Wisconsin native has completed 3,822 of 3,862 laps attempted (99 percent) at the Loudon, N.H., track. Starting seventh, Menard overcame a tight-handling car throughout last year’s event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, before bringing home his career-best Sprint Cup Series finish of 12th at the one-mile track.

New Hampshire is a fun little track. You’re hard on the brakes there. The track is flat with tight corners and long straightaways. You need to have the right setup on the car in order to get down the straightaways and through the corners. We’ve got SYLVANIA on the hood of the No. 27 Menards Chevrolet this weekend for the SYLVANIA 300, so it would be great to put on a good showing for them. New Hampshire provides us with some short-track-style racing, which makes it exciting for the fans. – Paul Menard
