Christopher Bell / No. 20 Rheem Toyota Supra Preview NASCAR Xfinity Series 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway

Atlanta Bound: Christopher Bell heads to his favorite track this weekend, Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS). Bell had a successful rookie season at the 1.5-mile track by qualifying on the pole, leading 12 laps and finishing third. His Xfinity success comes on the heels of two prior starts in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series (NGOTS) at AMS.

I love Atlanta, it’s actually my favorite race track on the schedule. I’ve been there three times and I think I’ve led laps all three times, so it’s a place that’s been really good to me.

Atlanta Success: Bell has one win, one top-five and one top-10 finish in two-career NGOTS starts at AMS. The 2017 trip to victory lane jump started his NGOTS Championship run.

Daytona Recap: The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) kicked off the 2019 season last weekend at Daytona International Speedway. Bell started the race 11th in his No. 20 Rheem Supra and led the field to the green for Stage 2 of the race. Bell led multiple laps at Daytona during the race and ultimately crossed the finish line sixth.

Joe Gibbs Racing at Atlanta: JGR has 43 NXS starts at AMS and has earned two wins, 12 top-five and 21 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has won five poles with an average start of 8.8 an average finish of 12.1.

Christopher Bell: “I love Atlanta, it’s actually my favorite race track on the schedule. I’ve been there three times and I think I’ve led laps all three times, so it’s a place that’s been really good to me. It’s really slick and very line sensitive. When running the bottom it’s very important to get all the way to the yellow line, the top is pretty good in one and two, so it’s a really fun race track. We were competitive last year and hopefully we can be just a little better this year.”
